Piera Van de Wiel
Actor and Singer Songwriter
Piera Van de Wiel, singer songwriter and founder of Stronger With Music is extremely passionate about social impact, specifically Gender Equality and Climate Change. Her work towards Disaster strategy and Hurricane Relief has been directed towards helping survivors of Hurricane Dorian through her campaign, song, and music video "Come Back Home (Abaco Relief Song)." Her rallying anthem brings people together and reignites hope. It has been shown on CBS, and received the Silver Medal for outstanding achievement in Listener Impact at the Global Music Awards, as well as being nominated for Best Music Video at the Independent Shorts Awards, Los Angeles Film Awards, Indie Short Fest and IndieX Film Fest.
Piera believes "music, the arts, the creative economy, have the power to consciously and subconsciously bring about connection, community and peace.
A community goes beyond the village, town, city, island - a community invites and includes anyone that has been involved in some way, given, received, and has called the place home. A community does not run away when a crisis arises, when a superstorm destroys it, they come together, heal together, and build towards a more sustainable future. We stand together. With climate change, we stand together, the world stands together."
